Good morning! It’s hump day and God is good! John 15:5 says, “I am the vine, you are the branch. He who abides in Me, and I in Him, Bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. Amen.
We can get involved with so many religious activities, but we have a hard time inviting God unto the deepest parts of ourselves and practicing His presence. When we attempt to accomplish God’s work, or even live the Christian life, apart from an authentic relationship with Him, we get burned out, frustrated, and we fail. God created us for fellowship! Any work that is lasting flows naturally out of a relationship with God.
Our tendency is to grit our teeth and exert our willpower. We wrestle with ourselves trying to do the right thing, when our focus should not be on doing but on being. Not struggling, but abiding. Fruit is never the product of willpower. It’s a result of abiding in the Vine.
Here is some good news for many of you today! Don’t try harder to make it happen. Rest in what He’s already done. Allow the Holy Spirit to flow through you and let it happen. Lord, I trust You with life this morning.
