The Stone Was Rolled AWay!

Matthew 28:2-6 says, “There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid that they shook and became as dead men. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said!”

This is why we celebrate Easter! Our God is not dead and He is alive and well. He has overcame sin, the cross, death and He has won the victory! Can you just imagine this from Satan point of view? He thought he had the victory in hand and they were partying with a great celebration. But the stone was rolled away!! That is when the party stopped in Hell! Satan knew he had been defeated. You see, the stone was not rolled away to let Jesus out, the stone was rolled away to let the world see what God has done!

Grace moved the stone for me and you. Jesus willingly laid down his life to die a cruel death on a wooden cross. He went through pain and humiliation because of His love for us. At any moment, He could have called ten thousand angels and struck everybody dead that put him on that cross. But He knew what He had to do. I praise God today for my risen Savior! Because of what Jesus has done for me I can celebrate today! Because He lives I can face tomorrow. Because He lives all fear is gone! Because He lives I have eternal life and one day I will be able to spend eternity with God the Father praising Him forever and ever!

How about you? Do you have a personal relationship with the risen Savior? Have you ever fell on your knees before God and said you are sorry? Have you ever asked Him to forgive you? 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify is from all righteousness.” This is the good news! Today is the day of salvation! In Romans 10:9 says, “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your hear that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” He is stand at your hearts door this morning knocking. Will you answer His call? It will be the greatest decision you will ever make! He did all the work, all you have to do is receive His amazing love. Open the door.

Thank God today that the Stone was rolled away! Rejoice and celebrate our risen King victory over sin and death! Thank you Lord for your grace and mercy. Happy Easter!
