Being Restored

Laura and I jumped on a project at our house that has gone undone for months. We haven’t been home on the weekend in about six weeks! Between watching Mackenzie play soccer, moving Carsen home from college, and going on vacation, there was no time to get it done. But we jumped on it yesterday or it jumped on us.

Our porch was a mess! This porch had to be pressured washed because of all the dirt. Boards had to be replaced, and screws had to be added too because the nails started pulling out. Then we had to stain the wood to protect it from the elements outside. I have to be honest with you, I am not much of a handy man but it is looking like a new porch! I can’t believe the difference it makes with a little love and care.

I don’t know about you, but before my life in Christ, my life was a mess. I was dirty from sin, I was beat up by guilt, and I was hopeless. But Jesus changed everything! I surrender my life to him at a very young age and I was never the same. He restored me and made me new because of what Christ has done for me! Thank you Lord.

1 Peter 5:10 says, “And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after he suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast.” Jesus is the master carpenter and He is in restoration business! Look at this good news in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come!

Jesus has a gentle and loving way of restoring a wrecked and troubled life marred by sin. Jesus came to cleanse, restore and to give a hope! Let God take over your porch! Let the blood of Christ cover you and make you new again. He will clean you up, restore you, and give you a hope that will change your life forever! God bless.
