Good morning! It is Tuesday and we are blessed with another day. I want to introduce you to a book that will encourage you greatly. The book is called, “The Hope Quotient, by Ray Johnston.” It is a great read and it will be a huge weapon against discouragement! Check it out.

I want to start out by asking you two questions. The first question, what fuels you? You have to know what motivates you, encourages you and what recharges you. Second question, what drains you? When I start driving on a trip I what a full tank of gas! The road to a better future is never traveled on an empty tank! Church we need to fuel up, and let me tell you, we don’t need cheep gas.

I want to help you to identify things that will drain you. Is there unhealthy people in your life, unkind critics, super busy schedule, past guilt, or just an unhealthy environment. Ask the Lord this morning, what do I need to change in my life? Ask God to give you wisdom on how to handle those things that drain you. Don’t be afraid to seek godly counsel. One of the best things to do when you are discouraged is to slow down and cry out to God! Start there.

Staying encouraged requires five supply lines that will keep you spiritually and emotionally fueled. Invest in your own physical, spiritual and emotional growth! What are you doing this year to get better? What goals have you set for yourself? Please sit down and answer these questions.

Secondly, take time to worship! Worship reconnects you to God. It has a way of stoking the fire of hope. Worship restores your joy. Worship also takes the focus off of self and puts the spot light on Jesus Christ.

We also need to dive in the Word of God! You will receive strength, power, and godly wisdom from the Word of God. It is so important to push aside that cell phone and take in something that will encourage you, and fill you with all the things you need to live a godly life.

Surround yourself with people who will make you better. Are there people around you that challenges you to grow? Do you have that mentor that will encourage you and hold you accountable? We all need that person that will cheer you on but also get on you when you need it.

Last but not least, pay attention to the voices you are listening to. The God of the universe will never leave us nor forsake us. He will give us everything we need to complete our journey!

I pray over you this morning, encouragement in Jesus name!
