Christ Alone

It’s Monday and it is great to be alive. I hope you had a great weekend. I heard a great sermon this weekend and I want to share the outline of the message with you this morning. Brad, you are loved!

There are three things I want you to sink your teeth in, and chew on. First, He is greater than any tradition. Colossians 2:8 says, “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human traditions and the basic principles of this world rather than Christ.”

Secondly, He is greater than all your possessions! Now that is stepping on my own toes. Matthew 13:44 says, “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. The things of this world will not satisfy and will leave you empty.

Last but not least, He is greater than the worlds transgressions! Romans:13:44 says, “Just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. For just as through the disobedience of one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous!” That is truth!

Christ alone, is enough! Nothing needs to be added or taken away. Jesus + 0= Everything!! Because of Jesus, I have been set free from sin and death. Because of His love for me, I have a plan and a purpose. I experience a joy that you can not put into words. The tradition and possessions of the world will not satisfy! Christ alone!

I urge you this morning to seek His face. Take time to soak in His presence and rest there. Let the love of Christ wrap around you. He is enough! Yes Lord.
