Under Pressure

I remember spending time at my grandparents house when I was young. There are so many imagines I will never forget. I will never forget seeing the empty Coke bottles sitting on the porch, the sowing machine in the bed room, and the old wash tub that was always on the back porch. My grand mothers were always cooking something! If you went to Nanny’s house, you were going to eat! I will never forget how they cooked with what I called a pressure cooker. All I knew was, there was this big pot that sat on the stove. It seem to brew for a long time. When it reach the point of being done, it would sound off and Nanny would come running! That pot would hiss at you until you took the pressure off! She was cooking under pressure!

Many of us are living life under pressure. We are over loaded and over committed! Some how we get all tangled up with stress and are pushed to the limit. When that happens, we lose joy, we lose confidence, we lose friendships, and we endure life instead of enjoy life. If the Devil can’t make you bad, he’ll just make you busy! Seventy five percent to ninety percent of all doctors office visits are from stress related ailments and complaints.

Many of us need a warning sticker on our forehead that says, “Warning, Content is Under Pressure!” We could blow at any moment! Have you ever felt like that? Don’t you long for the simple life?

1 Peter 5:5-7 says this, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.” I don’t know about you, but I needed that this morning! Cast all you cares on the Father this morning and know that He cares about you. Sometimes, the best thing to do is stop, take a deep breath or two, and pray! Ask the Lord for wisdom and rest in His grace.

He knows what you are going through. Trust Him with it.
