We all have those days when life can get you down! Yesterday, was one of those days for me. Everywhere I turned, there was discouragement and something else went wrong. Don’t you hate it when all your plans seem to crumble and everything seems to fall apart. After work, I headed to the gym to meet my daughter’s. But I only made it to the parking lot. I decided to skip the gym and go home and work in the yard. I needed some, “lawn mowing time.” I need some time to process my day.
My mind was going ninety to nothing! What am I going to do? How is all this going to workout? Why is this happening like this? Along with all the questions came worry, fear, and discouragement! After I finish the yard, I sat down and turn to the last chapter of Psalms. I needed something to encourage me! Psalms 150 says this, “Praise the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness. Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lure, praise Him with the tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute, praise Him with the clash of cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.” I need that is such a huge way!
No, I didn’t break out all the musical instruments and start dancing around in my house. But I did stop and took time to praise Him! In my very simple way. Did everything all of sudden begin to change and all my problems begin to workout? No, but my focus changed from the situations that were going on around me, to the King of the Universe! In that moment I could hear my Father whisper, “Trust Me.” Take time to praise Him! Especially if you are facing obstacles, and discouragement.
Thank you Father for your Word and it’s encouragement that I receive from daily! God bless!
