Loving Jesus

Good morning! I want to take time to praise my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is so worthy of our praise this morning.

I want us to look a couple of scriptures in our devotion time this morning. So go ahead and get your Bible out! 2 Timothy 3:1-5 says, There will be terrible days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”

Are we truly lovers of God? Are we passionate about spending time with our Heavenly Father? Is He the most important thing in our lives? Is He the reason we wake up in the morning? I am asking you to answer those questions with a yes or no answer. Don’t debate them in your mind or try to rationalize your answer. Yes or No.

Mike Bickle spoke last night at Park Avenue Church for their 50th Anniversary Celebration. He is the founder of the International House of Prayer of Kansas City. What a night of remembering and honoring God and the people of God. It was amazing! Thank you Lord! Mike share a scripture from Matthew 22:37 where Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is God mission statement for all mankind! This is the most reliable measurement of success at the judgement seat of Christ. You will not be asked how many people you won to Christ or how many sermons you preached. It not about how many service you attend or if you sung in the choir. The question will be asked, “How deeply did you love me?” I think we are missing the boat when it comes to our devotion to God.

John 15:9 says, “As the Father has loved, so I loved you. Now remain in my love.” Wow! My Father has loved me with crazy intense kind of love. Sit and rest in that love. Marinate and soak in His presence and don’t rush off! Enjoy Him this morning.

What is so amazing to me comes in John 17:26! Jesus says, “I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you know in order that the love you have for me may be in THEM and that I myself may be in them.” Jesus prayed that the Father’s love for Him to be imparted to us!

What changes need to take place in your life today? What is God saying to you this morning about your love relationship with Jesus Christ? I want to encourage you to love God with all your heart! Have a great weekend!
