A Thankful Heart

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of year. It’s exciting to have some time off, eat some great food and hangout with family and friends. It is also a time to remind us to be thankful! But I think it would do us so much good to hear this message more than once a year. Lord give us a thankful heart!

The quality of our life, whether we love it or hate it, is based upon how thankful we are towards God. Our attitude determines whether life to us is a place of blessing or misery. It all depends on our perspective and how we see things.

If we want to find joy, we must first learn how to be thankful. Every time we grumble and complain, the quality of our life is greatly reduced. When we are unthankful, we open the door for Satan to do his work. How many of us need to repent from ingratitude? How many of us need to tell someone, “I am sorry.” Is there someone you need to forgive today?

Psalm 100:4-5 says, “Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing…Enter His courts with THANKSGIVING, and enter His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name. For the Lord is good; His loving kindness is everlasting, and His faithfulness to all generations.” The key that unlocks the gates of heaven is a thankful heart!

Don’t take life blessings for granted. I want to encourage you this morning to make a list of things that you are thankful for, and take time to thank Him personally! Have a great day of worship. God bless.
