Why Jesus? Why not Muhammad, John Smith, or Buddha?
2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “God made him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” Christ, the sinless, became sin so that we, the sinners, could be counted sinless!” Christ not only became the sin offering by receiving God’s wrath for the sins of humanity, he overcame the punishment for sin by the resurrection from the dead! Yes Lord!
1 Peter 3:18 says, “For Christ died for sins once all, the righteousness for the unrighteousness, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.” What an amazing love, grace, and mercy!
Isaiah 53:5-6 reads, “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquities of us all.” Jesus responded to universal sin with a universal sacrifice. He took our place on the cross. He overcame sin and death, and He is alive and well today!
Have you trusted Jesus with your heart? Have you ever made a decision to follow Him and to surrender everything to Him? Revelation 3:20 says, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” There is your invitation to a whole new life in Jesus! The One true living God.
You see, Muhammad, John Smith, and Buddha are still in their grave! They are dead as dead can be. But you will not find Jesus in a tomb, or in grave clothes. But He is seated at the right hand of the Father! Jesus Christ is alive! He is not dead! Thank you Lord!
Have a great day and don’t forget to praise Him for His glorious work!
