Good morning! I want to wish all our dads a happy Father’s Day. God bless you and your families on this very special day!
I want to present to you a couple of verses that could change your walk with Christ, if you can receive them. Colossians 2:6 says, “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thanksgiving.” It is great that you have received Jesus Christ! That is great news, but that is just the beginning of an awesome journey with the Creator of the world!
There is so much more than just salvation! Yes, that is an amazing gift of God that only comes to you through the blood of Jesus Christ. But He is calling us to rooted, built up, strengthen, and full to overflowing! He is challenging us to grow in that love relationship with Him.
John 7:37-38 says, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the scriptures has said, streams of living water will flow from within you.” Come to Jesus and drink! We need to learn how gulp Christ. It is not enough sip or just to get our weekly Jesus on Sunday! If you are a believer of Christ Jesus, then God’s Spirit lives inside of you whether you feel it or not.
Ephesians 5:18, Paul tells us to be filled with the Spirit. Not only is this a command; he is given us a continuous, collective command. Continuous in the sense that the filling is a daily privilege. We are a temple for the Holy Spirit, who is in you! Checkout 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. The real question is not how do I get more of the Spirit? But rather, how can the Spirit have more of me? As a believer in Jesus, we have all the power we need to overcome, and face all our problems that come our way.
Luke 11:10 says, “For everyone who asks receives, he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” The Spirit fills as the prayers flow! Thank you Lord! Pray this morning for God to empty us of selfish pride and sin, and begin to fill us full to overflowing with His Holy Spirit.
Are all your “air vents” opened in each part of your life so that the Holy Spirit can flow freely in you? Christ in you; the hope of glory!
