We live in a society of fast foods, microwaves, and instant gratification. Who has time to wait?
Isaiah 40:31 says, “Those who wait in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Don’t you hate to wait in long lines at a fun park? How about getting stuck in traffic in Atlanta, Georgia? I don’t know about you, but I hate to wait!
Have you ever had to wait on God? Waiting on God means working through conflicts, forgiving those who have wrong you, and resolving disputes. Waiting on the Lord also means we have to learn how to be patient and trust Him fully. That is so easy to type out or to put on paper, but it’s a lot harder to live out!
God gives us a tool that will help us get through the holding patterns of life. God’s Word tells us to pray without ceasing, and to pray at all times, on every occasion. I have a tendency when things are not moving along like I want them to go, I tend to force things to break it free. Most of the time, it doesn’t workout to good. I could tell you some stories.
To be honest, praying without ceasing sounds impossible, and even burdensome. That is when we need to change our definition of prayer. Think of prayers less as an activity for God and more as an awareness of God! Strive to live in uninterrupted awareness. Practice His presence in everything you do! Acknowledge His presence everywhere you go. It will change the way you see life!
If you want great strength, and to soar high, with great endurance in this life. Learn how to wait on the Lord and practice His presence. Be in constant conversation with your Father!
God bless and have a great week!
