Waiting On God

Waiting on God is never a waste of time but it is never easy! Every God dream has to be tested before it can be trusted.

Think about it from a seed’s perspective. Once a seed is planted, it must seem like it’s dark and all alone! The weight of the world is on it. When the farmer plants the seed, he is not worried about the seed, but in time, the seed will grow and produce. Then there will be a harvest. We are that seed!

When God gives you a God dream, He will give you a 3 step test. I don’t know about you but I always hated test! But I do know, you have to past the test to move on.

First test of a God dream will be the test of rejection. Look at the story of Joseph in Genesis 37-45. In Genesis 37:5 it says, “Joseph had a dream, and when he told his brothers, they hated him all the more.” Rejection will come and people will doubt, but keep believing and never give up on what God has told you!

The second test of a true God dream will be the test of temptation. Genesis 39:6-7 says, “Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, and after a while his masters wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me.” Joseph refused! He tried his best to get out of there. But she didn’t give up. In verse 10, Joseph refused her day after day. Be prepared to face heavy temptation! Stay prayed up and keep your focus on Christ.

The third test of a God dream is the test of isolation. Patience is not just the ability to wait but the spirit in which you wait. The time you wait and how you wait will determine the size of the dream God will trust you with! Joseph had a very long season of isolation! He was forgotten in a prison. Genesis 40:23 says, “The chief cupbearer however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.” Two years of dark isolation!

Look at it this way. Film has to be developed in a dark room. When God gives us a promise, time doesn’t disqualify the promise, it validates the promise. As hard as it is to understand, God sometimes has to detach us from others to develop something inside of us, and to learn how to lean totally on Him.

There is coming a time when all the waiting will make sense! I am finding out that God favorite word is through. If you want to get to, you have to go through.

Just know this; Isolation leads to elevation. Joseph stood strong through all of the testing, and he was promoted to second in command. God’s dream is never about you, it’s about other people. Joseph blessed his brothers and his people because of his faithfulness.

Jesus Christ had a God dream too! He faced rejection, temptation, and isolation in a very huge way! He was planted and isolated in a tomb, but that tomb became the womb! Praise God! And He is alive and well today, and seated at the right hand of God!

Hang on to that dream that God has put in you heart. Don’t back down and don’t give up. Stay faithful and seek His face. God bless!
