What a great weekend! I want to thank The Grove Church in Titusville, Florida for having me speak yesterday! Thank you for your warm, loving spirit. Just know that I will continue to pray for you all! Love you!
I wanted to share the basic outline of that sermon with you today. But I want to ask you a simple question before I get started. Where would you be without Jesus? Take time to think about that as you go through your day.
I want to touch on three points, when it comes to having a heart of compassion. First, Simple Compassion will compel us to share. Matthew 20:29-34 says, “As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, the shouted, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” Then the crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” He asked. “Lord,” they answered, “We want our sight.” Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed Him.”
Secondly, We owe the Gospel to others! 2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promises, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
Third point, We can’t experience Jesus and remain silent. Romans 10:14-15 says, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one whom they have not heard? How can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can one preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who brings good news!”
Church, Crank It Up! Crank up the Heart of Compassion! There are people all around you that are hurting, empty, lonely and left out! They need something to fill the hole in heart! They need to know about the love of Jesus Christ. I challenge you to share your story with someone today. Simply tell the about you life before Christ. Then tell them how you come to experience Jesus and then share how that encounter has changed your life! The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
Crank it up! God bless!
