Are We Winsome?

Good morning! I hope you had a great weekend and I hope you had a great time of worship yesterday. We were up in Atlanta again, and we decided to worship at Passion City. They introduced a new song to me and I want to encourage you to check it out. You can go to You Tube and look up Way Maker by Leeland. I hope you enjoy it!

I also heard a very encouraging word by Brad Jones about sharing our faith. I wish I had more time to dive into the details, but I will do my best to share the general message. Paul was writing in 1 Corinthians 9:19 and says, “Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.” Paul had a passion for God and he loved people! Paul was encouraging the Church to get outside our little bubble and begin to think about people who are around us, who are empty, hurting, and searching! God wants to use us to translate the message of Jesus Christ to this world. His desire is for us to have a heartbeat to win others to Him!

If we are going to win some to Jesus, we must first be winsome! Winsome means to be attractive or appealing in character. He is calling us to engage others, so that they can experience life change through Jesus Christ. But, are we living the attractive life that makes them stop and say, “Man, there is something different about him.” To be winsome for Christ, we must we must be marked by transformation! We are called to be different. We must be marked by humility! Take time to read Philippians 2:5-11. Thirdly, we should be marked by generosity. Christian people should be the most generous people on earth. We should also be marked by words of grace that flows from a pure heart. Colossians 4:6 says, “Let your conversation be always full of grace, season with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” We should also be marked by our availability. Are we willing to be used by the Holy Spirit to touch the people around us. Last but not least, we should be marked by intentionally. We need to be intentional and prayed up! We need to walk this life with our spiritual eyes wide open.

I want to encourage you this morning to stop and think, and ask yourself, how is your life impacting others for Christ? Are you being obedient to what God has called you to do? Are you walking out your faith? Are you looking around and seeing the needs of others. He is calling us to be winsome! He is calling us to intentional about winning others to Jesus Christ! Church, it time to saddle up and get to work! I pray over you passion this morning! God bless you and your family! Have a great Monday.
