Waiting is probably one of the most difficult things that Christians are asked to do. This is especially true when there is something that seems to be right at your fingertips, and we feel this is God’s will for our lives. But God has a clear plan for telling us to wait. Waiting is a huge part of learning how to walk in obedience to God. Being patient is difficult, but failing to wait on God can be much worse! First, when we don’t wait on God, we get out of God’s will. Second, we delay God’s planned blessings for us, because we moved ahead of Him. Thirdly, we are prone to make rash decisions that may cost us down the road. How many times have we taken our eyes off of Christ and try to manipulate our situation to conform to our will? Whenever we reach for something that is not of God, it will fall to pieces. Wait on the Lord.
I want to share a couple of scriptures that God has placed on my heart this morning. Psalm 27:14: Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord.” Psalm 37:4-7: “Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will do it. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light and your judgement as the noonday. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” Isaiah 40:31: “Yet those who wait in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Remember, waiting and trusting are inseparable. Wait on God’s green light and the peace that comes when it is time to move. Believe me, I know it is hard to wait on the Lord! Just known that God has heard your prayers and He is working behind the scenes. He wants what is best for you! Trust and obey! Love ya!!
