Does it really matter if we believe in eternal security? You better believe it! Eternity is one of God’s promises, and He wants us to be confident about our future with Him. 1 John 5:13 says, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life.” A believer who is sure of eternity is not working to get something from God, but is serving Him out of pure devotion.
Ephesians 2:8-9says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not of ourselves, it is a gift of God-not of works, so that one could boast.” Grace is a gift! If we add a single work requirement to salvation, then it is no longer a gift. If salvation is based on anything other than the completed work of Jesus Christ on the cross, then we find our self on unstable ground! John 10:27-30: “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one” Hang on to this truth! If you are in Christ, you are eternally secure in the Lord! When we received Jesus as your Savior, we didn’t receive just forgiveness, we received life! Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus is right now abiding in you. He has promised that He would not leave us, nor forsake us, but He has sent us a helper! John 14:15-19.
John 14:6 says, “Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Do you have a love relationship with the Father? Jesus is the only way to secure your eternal security and the only way to know true peace! You can not find it any other way. Are you prepared to face eternity? Turn your eyes upon Jesus! God bless and have a great day.
