Where Do You Run?

David was an hero of the faith and a great king. He never claimed to be perfect but he pursued God with passion! David also had many enemies that wanted his head on a platter, but David trusted in the Lord, his deliverer. David wrote a song to the Lord that went like this; I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and my horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:1-2

How did David withstand all the pressures of this life and face his stressful job? You think you have a ton on your plate, try being king! His secret was found in his relationship with God. David wrote Psalm 27:1-3 and said, “The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear? The Lord is my stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.” David’s time with God was his stronghold, and his high tower. This is where he found his strength and confidence to do what he was called to do.

We all need a high tower and a shelter when the storms of life come! I want to encourage you to run to the One who loves you the most, and He will welcome you with open arms no matter what! Thank you Lord for watching over me and loving me the way that you do! I want to give you the praise and the glory that you deserve this morning! He is my rock, my shelter, and my comfort! To you be the Glory forever and ever!
