After 10 hours of driving in the pouring rain, on mostly 2 lane country roads. I was happy to be home! Thank you for your prayers for safety, that means the world to me. There were times when it was raining so hard, I could barley see the road. It got worse when the oncoming traffic wouldn’t take their bright lights off! That is almost as bad as people riding 5 foot from my bumper! You think I am kidding, that is when I have to pray the most. I am dead serious. My old self comes out and I need intervention from the Lord. But to stay on the road, I had to keep my eyes on that white running line to my right. My thought process was to just to stay in my lane, and I would make it home!
This made me think about Proverbs 4:23-27; “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Put away perversity from the mouth; keep corrupt talk from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.” We have to look straight ahead and look for that white running line which is Jesus Christ! Satan will do everything he can to distract you, blur your vision, and cause you to look away! Are your eyes wondering? Have you lost focus? Has your heart fell for other gods? Things like sports, money, power, or position. These things will live you in a ditch and crying out for help!
Guard your heart and what you say. Keep your focus on what is most important and keep Christ first in your life. Don’t swerve to the left or right and stay away from the tricks of the devil. Stay in your lane bro! God bless and have a great weekend. Go Dogs! Haha
