How Green Is Your Grass

Good morning! It is Hump Day and I am about to have a couple of days off! We are excited about visiting Titusville to see our oldest daughter, other family, and a lot of great friends. Sunrise Bakery here I come. I want to share a short word with you this morning, and I hope it make sense. God, bless this time together. Amen.

We seem to think that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. But we know that is not always true. How many times have we looked at other people’s lives and said, “They have it made.” We look at other couples and say, “They have it all together.” But things are not always as they seem. I want to share my thought with you this morning, and ask that you really pray about this. You see, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence, it’s greener where you water it.

I want to encourage you this morning to be intentional how we “water.” We need to be super intentional how we invest in others and our close relationships. That may sound easy and fluffy, but it not easy! Yes, greener grass looks really good, but it requires a lot of work and it’s not going to happen over night. It takes cultivating, extra attention, sometimes even sweat, and tears. Go the extra mile, write a hand written note of encouragement, take your wife on a fun date, or just smile and say hello. Invest in others and water every chance you get! It may cost you, but it is sure worth it. God bless and I hope to see you tomorrow.
