In Genesis 12:1 says, “The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave you country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.” How hard would that be to leave everything we know to be obedient to Christ, especially when you don’t know all the information! Back in my 20’s, when we left for a trip, I would break out this huge map book, and mark the best way to get to my destination! I would learn the names of each road, and know exactly what turns to take. I would have my plan in place! Haha. Sometimes my plan wasn’t as good as I though it was. Don’t you hate getting lost?
But today it’s much different, to say the least! I normally get a address, plug it in my phone, and I take off. Then I trust the GPS to get me there. Obedience is letting God set the direction of your life, even when he doesn’t give us all the details! We have to learn to follow Him step by step. God wants to align opportunity with obedience. God will give incredible opportunities to those who have learned to be obedient. Abram was that guy who stepped to the plate and said, “Lord, I am your guy, what are we doing?”
What is God calling you to do? What has God engraved in your heart? What has God set in motion in your life, and you are trying your best to slow it down? What direction has God pointed you in, but has not given you all the instructions and information? I challenge you this morning to say to the Lord, “I am your guy, what are we doing?” The second part of my challenge is the pray an easy, short prayer. Simple ask the Lord to give you an opportunity to serve Him. Then ask God for favor! Because of Abram’s obedience, God not only blessed him but He blessed an entire Nation! What are you waiting on? I hope you have a great Thursday!
