Good morning my friend! I hope you are having a great week. Never take a day for granted or wish it away! Learn to enjoy the ups and the downs of life. What would roller coasters be without them? Enjoy the ride and take time to smile. I want to share a quick thought with you this morning.
Some translations of Luke 7:13 say that Jesus “had compassion” on the widow. Compassion means to have a feeling of sorrow followed by a deep desire to alleviate suffering. Know this; Jesus sees our pain and experiences our suffering and has a deep desire to alleviate our suffering. Most of us experience sympathy when we see others go through hard times or face difficult situations. But it usually doesn’t lead us to doing much to alleviate the suffering. The difference between sympathy and compassion is action. Jesus reaches out to the widow, and he did something about it. He brought her son back to life! Jesus loves us in such a way that we can’t even comprehend. He cares how we feel! If we experience sorrow, he feels it to. People don’t need our sympathy, but I guarantee you they need our compassion. Love others the way Christ loves us. God bless!
