It’s a New Year and I understand why so many people celebrate it, but there is something else that is far more worth being celebrated! Romans 6:11-14 says this, “In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let your sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey the it’s evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.” If you are in Christ, you are dead to sin and alive in Him, and we need to celebrate it! This means we must not give sin a vote in the way we conduct our lives. Don’t give it the time of day! Throw yourselves wholeheartedly into God’s way of doing things. Sin should no longer tell you how live your life. In Christ, we are no longer under the tyranny of the law, but we are living in the freedom of God. Let’s celebrate God’s amazing grace! We were bought at a price! Therefore honor God with your body. I hope you have a great New Years and a blessed Thursday! I will see you tomorrow.
Happy New Year! It is hard to believe it is 2020. For some, 2019 was a tough year and you faced some very difficult times. But along with those hard times, there was still good memories to remember. But through it all, just know that God walked beside you, and sometimes even carried you through this crazy year! It’s a new year, and yes, a fresh start! Live life with no regrets, pray big prayers, and take time to serve others!
My prayer for 2020 is simple; Lord, I pray for opportunities to serve You and others, show me your favor! Lord, take my eyes off myself, where I can see the needs of people around me. Help me to be an instrument of encouragement, and in everything I do, give you the glory for it all! Hear my prayers Father! Just know and believe that God can use the smallest act of kindness, and turn it into a God-sized blessings! Here is to fresh beginnings, and a Happy New Year! God bless!
Life is full of uncertainty, strife, heart break, disappointment, and negativity. Turn on the news and see it for yourself. More than ever before, this world is overcome by depression, sadness, and hate. So how in the world can we stay positive and encouraged? How can we be a positive influence when it seems like the world is falling apart? Stay grounded in God’s Word! Get the Bible off the coffee table, and jump in, and dig like never before. Put down your phone and pick up God’s Book of life. God’s Word is alive, active, and it will change your life forever and ever. If you need encouraging or a positive word, break open God’s life manual. You will find direction and a path that leads to joy.
Psalm 119:133-136 says this, “Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. Redeem me from the oppression of men, that I may obey your precepts. May your face shine upon your servant and teach me your decrees. Streams of tears flow from from thy eyes, for your law is not obeyed.” Lord, steady our steps with your Word of promise. Rescue us from the traps of Satan so we can live life your way! Smile on us, your servants, teach us the right way to live through your Word. Amen! Have a great Monday and start it off with a positive Word from God.
Good morning! 2020 is almost here. It’s a new year and a new beginning for some. Millions of people from all over the world will make a New Years Resolution, and many of the gyms will be full for about a month. Some will vow to get in shape, start eating right, and get healthy. Others will vow to get back to church, work harder for that promotion, or come up with a plan to get out of debt. There is nothing wrong with any of those resolutions, but I want to put something different in front of you this morning.
1 Peter 1:13-16 says this, “Prepare your minds for action, be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so he Holy in all you do; for it is written: Be holy, because I am holy.” Church, it is time to roll up our sleeves, put our mind in gear, and pursue the Lord! Don’t slip back in the the old grooves of spiritual laziness. For 2020, pursue His holiness! Be holy in all you do. There you go, something very different to pursue this year! I pray that 2020 will be your best year ever! I dare you to dream, and when you dream, dream big because we serve a big God! I hope you have a great day of worship.
I have a special prayer request this morning, and I am asking for all prayer warriors to pray for Talon Glover! This is a family who I love deeply, and are in need of prayer. I don’t know all the details, but Talon is covered with boils on 50% of his body. It is some form of skin virus. This young man is in pain and in need of a special touch from the Great Physician! While you are praying, please pray for comfort for the family. Lift up Jackie and Niki Glover especially!
Lord, touch Talon with your healing hand this morning! You are the God of miracles! I pray for healing and comfort in Jesus name! Thank you Lord. Please help us pray this simple prayer. Thanks!
Good morning! It is hard to believe that 2019 is coming to an end, and 2020 is on our doorstep. I want to challenge you to dream big, and ask God to do something God sized in your life. It may cost you, but it will be worth it.
I want to share Psalm 145:17-21 this morning, it says, “The Lord is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them, The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise his holy name forever and ever.” Everything God does is right and the trademark on all his work is love. God is there, listening for all who pray, and call out to him. He does what is best for those who fear him. God sticks by those who love him. He hears our cries, He feels our hurts, He understands our struggles! Let our mouth be full with God’s praise. Let everything living bless Him, forever and ever.
In 2020, see the righteousness of the Lord! Don’t be scared to call out to Him and praise Him for who He is, and His glorious name! He is worthy. Yes He is! Have a great Friday.
Good morning! What a great Christmas! It is always good to have a little time off to spend with family, friends, and to worship our King. The food was awesome and the time together was even better. Make sure to take time to be thankful durning this Christmas Holiday season.
I want to challenge you to pray a bold prayer as we approach 2020! It is found in Psalm 139:23-24. It’s say this, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” In other words, ask God to investigate your life, find out everything about you. Ask the Lord to cross-examine and test us, and give us a clearer picture of who we really are. Allow God to dig below the surface and test our motives. Open up your mind and heart to see what God sees. Ask God to guide you, direct you, and give us the guts to make positive changes in our lives! This may not be the easiest prayer to pray, but it is necessary, if we want to live a life that pleases Him. God bless and enjoy this Holiday Season. Don’t take time with loved ones for granted. See you tomorrow.
