Good morning! It’s Sunday and I could have slept in a little longer but God had me praying about my devotion this morning! I usually ask the Lord to give me something to share every morning but this morning was different! He was throwing small phrases at me left and right. So I got on up and begin to write them down, and I want to share them with you. Maybe one of them will grab your heart. Hold on because there is no telling where this devotional is going to go!

Here is a list of the phrases God was handing to me this morning: choose happiness, listen and don’t judge, be a loyal friend, share your blessings, don’t forget to smile, honor others, slow down and enjoy Me, keep your promises, forgive and forget, and don’t forget to hug and say I love you! What a crazy list but which one is jumping off the page to you?

I don’t know about you, but I am a task oriented person. I love to make a list and get things done! Sometimes I find it hard to stop or slow down, till those things are done and off the list. Being so consumed with completing the job, there are times I loss sight of the blessings around me, times I should reflect with thankfulness but I don’t, or the relationships that I take for granted!

Here is a great example of what I am talking about! If I am going on a trip from point A to point B. Know this, I have a plan! I know what time I am going to leave and I know what time I want to be there! There is no room for a traffic jam and no unnecessary stops! If we do stop, it will be short and quick. I am focused and determined to get to my destination on time! But God has been showing me how to slow down and enjoy the ride and learning how to appreciate the little things along the way! How many wonderful things and sites did I miss out on because I couldn’t slow down?

It’s great to want to be successful and productive in this life but don’t forget to slow down and enjoy the little blessings that sometimes goes unnoticed! Lord, I can be so selfish at times and so consumed with my problems that I miss out on what really brings me joy! Bless someone today! Go out of your way to show someone how special they are. Write a letter, give them a hug, or just bake them a cake! How can you make a difference in someone else today? Take time to enjoy the view, family and friends!

1 John 4:11 says, “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” Love God, Love People! Love you guys!!

Good morning and I hope you are having a good week! This is my Friday because I am off tomorrow. Headed to Titusville to move my oldest daughter into her own house! You heard me right. Into her own house! Let’s dive into God’s Word.

1 John 4:9-10 says, “This is how God showed His love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. That is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” That will preach!

The love of God has no meaning apart from Calvary. And Calvary has no meaning apart from the holy and just wrath of God. Jesus did not die just to give us peace and purpose in this life. He died to save us from the wrath of God. Jesus died to reconcile us to a holy God! He died to pay the price for our sins. Are we thankful for that this morning?

The more we see God in His infinite majesty, holiness, and glory, the more we will gaze with wonder and amazement on His love poured out at Calvary. It is not enough to believe that God loved the world. We must be gripped by the realization that God loves ME!! Our awareness of God’s love for us must be constantly growing. As we mature in our Christian walk, we should be increasingly aware of God holiness and our sinfulness.

Take the time this morning to thank God for His amazing gift to us! Take time to have your own praise session and sing it loud! God, you are so good to me. Thank you for loving me when I was unlovable and covered in sin. Thank you Lord for your amazing grace. God bless.

3 Things

Good morning! I want to ask everybody to pray for Sandy Parker. This is our brother in Christ who needs our prayers and encouragement. Lord, I pray that you touch Sandy with your healing hand and give him strength this morning. Thank you Lord!

I want to look at a very direct scripture that the Church really needs today. Colossians 1:28-29 says, “We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.”

Paul is charging the Church to do 3 things. First, he tells us to proclaim the Lord Jesus! We are called to tell everyone about the good news of Jesus Christ. We can not be ashamed and we can’t back down when the world is standing in our face. Our God is alive! He has risen from the grave and is sitting at the right hand of the Father! He is the giver of life and He is my Savior! We have a calling; To go and to tell this world about His amazing love and grace.

Secondly, we have to teach the scriptures! Satan is a lier and a deceiver! He likes to send a message of half truth, which we know is not truth at all. It is time for the Church of Jesus Christ to get back to the basics and dive into the Word of God! Get the Bible off of the coffee table and begin to hide the Word of God in your heart. The Word of God is alive and active and will stand the test of time. We have to know the scriptures, because we are commanded to share it!

Thirdly, we are to reach the world. Matthew 28:19 Jesus says, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” We have to keep the main thing, the main thing! Don’t lose focus Church. We have “The Answer” and His name is Jesus! This world is searching for something to fill the hole in their hearts. They are looking for peace, happiness, and joy. Let’s tell the world and give away what God has given us!

Have a great weekend and don’t forget to pray for Sandy! Love y’all!

Jesus Stopped!

Good morning! I don’t have to tell you what day it is but I am going to say it anyway! Thank God it is Friday! Yes sir!

I want to share a scripture that jump off the page yesterday, that left me in tears. Matthew 20:29-31 says, “As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when the heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” They were in desperate need of a Savior! Can you hear the screams of our world today? There is so much going on around us, more than ever before! The world is shouting out because of the hatred, pain, suffering, and confusion in their lives.

Matthew 20:32-34 says, “Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” He asked. “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.” Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.”

Jesus stopped! The Savior of the world stopped what He was doing for 2 blind men. With everything going on around him, he still saw the hurt in other people’s lives. He had compassion on them and healed them. We can become so busy and tied up with the things of this world, that we become calloused and selfish. Lord, help me this morning to see people the way you see them! Take away my judgmental spirit! Forgive me Lord when I am so busy that I pass by or ignore those who are shouting out in pain and hurt! Lord, help me to stop! I want a heart like Jesus. Fill me with compassion that will change the world.

Who is shouting out in desperate need today? Take time to stop. God bless you and I pray that you have a great weekend!

Living Out the Dash

Good morning! If you haven’t notice yet, I am getting my devotions out a little later this week. I am on vacation! Just hanging around the house getting some things done and hanging with family. Thank you Lord!

I love to ask questions to get you thinking early in the morning. What if, we knew we only have one month to live, would we live our lives differently? How would you spend your time? Would things be totally different? We need to make the most of every opportunity that God gives us and to make every minute count!

Have you ever stopped at a graveyard and just walked around? I know that is something that we don’t do every day or even think about doing. This is a challenge for you, stop this week at a graveyard and walk around and study all the tombstones! Of course, you will see a name at the top of the tombstone but then possibly a Bible verse, funny saying, or even what branch of service they may have served in.

You can’t help but to recognize their entire lives are reduced into two dates and one little dash. But what it really comes down to is what transpired between those two dates! How are we living out our dash?

We don’t know when our time on earth will be done. It could be tomorrow, or even today, or it maybe 50 years from now! Only God knows that. But there is one thing that we do have a vast amount of control over. We get to decide how are we going to use our dash.

Psalms 90:12 says, “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” God wants us to know that our time on earth is limited, so spend it wisely. Mend those broken relationships, spend more time with the people you love, and invest in the things that will last forever.

Wouldn’t it be great to live life so that if you discovered you had one month to live, you wouldn’t have to change a thing? I what to challenge you to do 4 things today as you live life.

1. Live passionately! Don’t do things halfway or half hearted. Give your very best.

2. Love completely! Let people know how much you love them. Let people see the love of Christ in you.

3. Learn to be humble! Don’t walk in pride or arrogance. Be willing to serve.

4. Live boldly! Take your stand for Jesus Christ. Don’t back down and don’t find yourself blending into the world. Church, let’s get off the fence!

God bless you today! 😃
