I heard a great sermon by Brad Russell and I wanted to share part of his message with you this morning. He is the Lead Pastor at the Groove Church in Titusville, Florida. I want to share the 3M play for serving other in your community.
1. Make yourself Available. Matthew 25:38-40 says, “When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or or needing clothes and cloth you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go and visit you? “The King will rely, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” When we serve others, we serve God! The number one ingredient to serving is availability. We need to be present in people’s lives. But the greatest enemy of availability is busy! If Satan can’t make you bad, he will make you busy!
2. Meet the needs of people around you. 1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s Grace in it’s various forms. God has gifted each follow of Christ with a gift, and that gift was given to us to encourage others! The Church is the only organization that exist for those outside of their organization. Mark 10:45 says, “For even the Son of Man didn’t come to be served, but to serve, and to hive his life as a ransom for many.”
3. Move People Towards Jesus. Our job is not to be this world’s savior, our job is to point them to Jesus. He is their hope and Savior! Our job isn’t to pull people out of sin and darkness, but to point them to Jesus! John the Baptism was a great example. He was the forerunner of Christ. He wasn’t the answer for sin, guilt, and shame. But everything he did, pointed others to Christ.
This morning I want to encourage you to serve the Lord with all you heart by serving others! Use this 3M strategy to make sure we are loving on others the way that Jesus loved. Make yourself available. Meet the needs of people around you. Move others to Christ. God bless!
