Good morning! Please continue to pray for the Branson Power’s family. They are hurting, and they need your love and support. Pray over them encouragement and peace. Thank you all for your overflow of support and prayers.
I don’t know about you, but I never like test while I was in school. Because test revealed how much I knew about a certain subject. I always struggled when it came to math and it showed up on the test! But we all know that test don’t stop when you get out of school. If anything, they just seem to intensify!
God doesn’t tempt us, but He does test us. But understand, these test are for the purpose of promotion. Test are not for the Lord, because He already knows what is in our heart. They are for us! The test are not just for the purpose of revealing to us what is in our heart, but for changing our hearts. To be trusted with power we must be proven faithful.
I don’t know what test you are facing this morning but God is calling you to dig in, plant your your feet, and lean into Him! If you are in Christ, you are not alone. Don’t give up and trust fully in Him! He wants to do a major work in your life today. The more spiritual authority that we are called to walk in, the greater the test will usually be in our life.
Philippians 1:9-11 says, “And this is my prayer: that your love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ-to the glory and praise of God.” We are called to be like Him and to do the world that He did. We must have His power to do this. To be entrusted with this power we must be proven faithful!
It’s amazing how fast the weekend flies by! But it is so good to have a little down time and rest. I pray that you will have a great time of worship this morning.
Genesis chapter 22 is the story of Abraham and Isaac. Please take time to read the whole chapter this morning and dive into the rich truth of this story. Genesis 22:1-2 says, “Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.” I could not imagine what Abraham was going through! That was a huge test in Abraham’s life but he passed the test!
I don’t always have all the right answers but I do know that God does test us in our journey of life. He test us for two reasons. First, it’s an opportunity for God to prove Himself to us. That He is faithful and trustworthy. Secondly, it’s an opportunity for us to prove ourselves to Him through obedience.
What is your Isaac? What do you find your identity in? We can base our identity in a number of things; our position, how much money we make, degrees we earn, or even our athletic ability. What do you love more than God? God will test you to make sure your identity and your security are found in the cross of Jesus Christ.
Lucifer was a beautiful being with a great voice. His gifts were originally used to glorify the Lord. But he started looking in the mirror and claiming the glory. Do we find our identity in who we are or whose we are? God is asking for 100% of our heart. What do we need to give up or turn over to Him this morning? What do we need to place on the alter and totally surrender to Him? What is getting between you and God?
Place your Isaac on the alter and see what God can do! He can not give back what you do not give up. Genesis 22:13-14 says. “Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”
Our God is faithful and He does provide. I encourage you this morning to get alone with God and allow God to speak into your life. Take time to reflect and respond. Love you guys!!
